"How Far Can the State Go Against Terrorism?"

January 7, 2008.
"How far can the state go against terrorism" was the subject of a podium discussion between NRW Justice Minister Roswitha Müller-Piepenkoetter and Consul General Matt Boyse at the Industrie-Club in Duesseldorf on January 7. The conversation, moderated by Professor Dr. Alexander Lorz, who is both President of the Duesseldorfer Institute for Foreign and Security Policy and State Secretary of Science and Technology in Hessen, was an opportunity for the Minister and Consul General publicly to compare and debate differing legal, political and other approaches to combating terrorism in the United States and Germany and to entertain questions from among the almost 150 guests.
