At a concert at the Rheinisches Industriemuseum in Oberhausen on May 1, “The Newlanders,” a group of Pittsburgh-area musicians, took the audience on a musical history tour of the lives of the workers in the coal mines and steel mills of Pennsylvania. Their concert was the concluding event to the exhibition “Born of Fire” in Oberhausen, a collaborative project with the Westmoreland Museum of American Art, and resonated with the large audience of this traditional coal and steel region.
