Ambassador and Mrs. Timken Visit Muenster, Guetersloh and Bielefeld
July 19 & 20, 2007.
Ambassador and Mrs. Sue Timken visited Westphalia July 19 and 20. As part of their visit, the Ambassador was greeted by Münster Lord Mayor Berthold Tillmann in the historic "Hall of Peace" as a "friend among friends." In addition, the Timkens participated in programs at the German Police University in Münster and Bertelsmann AG in Gütersloh, which included meetings with Bertelsmann Foundation heads and lunch with current CEO Gunter Thielen and his successor Harmut Ostrowski (as of Jan 1, 2008). Ambassador Timken also participated in an interview with the regional daily "Neue Westfälische" in Bielefeld and he and Mrs. Timken enjoyed a tour of the "Sculpure Projects Münster 07" exhibit given by co-curator and co-founder Kasper Koenig.
