Robert Indiana Exhibit Opens in Kleve, Supported by U.S. Embassy

On August 26, the Museum Kurhaus Kleve opened a major exhibition dedicated to American painter Robert Indiana. Speaking at the opening, U.S. Consul Desiree Humphreys conveyed best wishes from Ambassador William R. Timken Jr. who serves as patron of the exhibition and congratulated the Museum for presenting the classic works of this influential figure in American arts. The curator of the exhibition, Dr. Roland Moenig, introduced the artist noting that "Robert Indiana’s art is art of the highest intellectual complexity together with the greatest possible simplification of the outward form." The exhibition will be shown until January 6, 2008. An exhibition catalogue is available at the Museum Kurhaus Kleve.
