Jared Diamond, Professor of Geography at the University of California at Los Angeles and internationally acclaimed author of studies on the history of civilizations, presented a lecture based on his new book “Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed” at Cologne’s Rautenstrauch-Joest Museum of Ethnology on November 3. A large and attentive audience listened to the lecture and engaged the author in a discussion on his thought-provoking theses. At the conclusion of the event, Jared Diamond signed copies of his book which has just been released in German by Fischer-Verlag.
