More than 500 invited guests joined Consul General George Knowles, consulate officials and staff for an early morning election party at the Garden Café in the center of Düsseldorf on November 2. The event was organized in cooperation with Düsseldorf daily Rheinische Post and the Steuben-Schurz Association. At a series of panel discussions moderated by RP chief editor Reitz U.S. and German experts offered their assessment of the election results. The audience, a mix of young and old, also included German students and many Americans who were sought-after interview partners for national and regional media outlets.
