On November 8, the Fulbright Commission conducted a German-American “Building Bridges” conference at the Amerika Haus Cologne, designed to discuss approaches to successful integration of Germany’s changing school populations. In a series of panel discussions and workshops, the participants focused on best practices of integrating students with different cultural and social backgrounds. The two-day conference produced a series of specific suggestions for strengthening the role of the educational system in integrating an increasingly diverse student body. The insights and recommendations will be documented by the Fulbright Commission in a publication.
