At a meeting in Aachen with city officials and regional planners on October 19, Mark Gibb, the Executive Director of the Northern Virginian Regional Commission, informed his German colleagues about new trends and developments in one of the fastest growing regions in the United States. Aachen Lord Mayor Dr. Linden took time out to welcome Mark Gibb. Since Aachen enjoys an active city partnership with Arlington in Virginia, the meeting also generated ideas for including regional planning as a new aspect in the bilateral dialogue.
